Configuration and Document Management Engineer

CLC Space is currently recruiting a GES Configuration and Document Management Engineer to provide consultancy support at their client’s headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Configuration and Documentation Management consultant will mainly focus on Facilities Management, Facility Services as well as Budget and Inventory Management:
The activity is assumed, as a baseline, to be required part time with 24 hrs per week. The tasks will be carried out at EUMETSA T facilities in Darmstadt.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The engineer will provide consultancy support to the Facility Services Team of the GES Division. It is foreseen that the detailed tasks providing Configuration and Documentation Management consultancy will include as a minimum support services to all areas of GES.
In this context:
• Maintain the change request registers and software databases related to change management of GES services, GES projects and GES infrastructure, status accounting reports and related documents,
• Support the teams with the configuration management, planning, configuration identification, configuration and version control, configuration and status reporting and configuration auditing,
• Establish and operate a central documentation repository including a paper based and electronic documentation filing system and archive,
• Review divisional documentation in line with changing EUMETSAT Rules and Instructions as well as other organisational policies, provide continuous improvement based on feedback and lessons learnt,
• Support the set-up of new working practices, procedures and policies in line with generic policies and processes at EUMETSAT,
• Support the GES teams in the consistent application of change and documentation management principles, working practices, procedures and policies in their specific area of responsibility,
• Contribute to the training of new starters in documentation management principles, procedures and processes,
• Support the maintenance of the GES Intranet pages and the correctness of the entrance screen,
• General administrative support,
• Support to internal and external audits and assessments.
Regarding the Facilities Management Team:
• Support to the management process for the EUMETSAT power supply infrastructure consisting of sub-setting tasks as defined in the EUMETSAT Quality Assessment Report,
• Support the Facility Working Group, and
• Support to the preparation of the regular reports to senior management.

YOUR PROFILE
The Configuration and Documentation Management Engineer shall preferably have a university degree or equivalent professional experience. A technical or engineering background and understanding will be required.

Mandatory skills and competences
• Demonstrated knowledge and proven experience in Configuration and Change Management and Documentation Management in a formalised ISO 9000 certified environment.
• You shall have extensive experience in applying state-of-art configuration and documentation management standards, methods and tools, including formalised Change Management, preferably in the context of demanding system and software development organisations and projects.
• You shall demonstrate knowledge of information technology or system engineering life cycle and related deliverables.
• You shall bring experience and knowledge in technical engineering; you shall demonstrate your experience in Facility Management within a 24/7 operational environment.
• The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore you must be able to work effectively in this language (i.e. ability to write clear and concise documents and reports in English).
• The variety of the tasks and the scope of the support to be provided require a high degree of autonomy, attention to detail and accuracy as well as good planning and reporting skills to fulfil the assigned tasks without supervision.
• Good communication, team spirit and reporting skills are required as well. 3.2.2 Additional skills and competences
• General knowledge in SAP, and proven experiences with a DM Tool, ideally based on Oracle Webcenter Content, would be considered as a significant advantage.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office in general, and of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Project and MS Visio in particular, would be considered a significant advantage.
