User Support Analyst (Hardware) Consultant

CLC Space is currently recruiting a User Support Analyst (Hardware) Consultant to provide consultancy support at their client’s headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The User Support Analyst will provide consultancy to the Service Desk Manager and work according to the team’s agreed service levels, defined working practices and procedures
The tasks will be carried out at EUMETSA T facilities in Darmstadt, but may require very limited travel within Europe or to Launch Sites for certain activities.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The User Support Analyst will have as a minimum the following responsibilities:

• Install/configure/administrate desktop and notebook systems (hardware and operating system –
MS Windows);
• Install/configure/administrate hardware peripherals (printers, scanners, etc);
• Operate the Service Desk/Helpdesk and provide first/second level user support for ICT end-users;
• Document actions and interactions related to Service Desk calls or user requests;
• Perform distribution and physical installation of the office computing hardware including cabling
work;
• Maintain and keep clean the information technology infrastructure and work environment as well as related equipment (e.g. printers)
• Interface with hardware suppliers regarding procurement, warranty and maintenance issues
• Support the procurement of hardware
• Operate and maintain the office computing hardware inventory in SAP
• Audit office computing hardware installations as well as implement defined asset and inventory management working practices and procedures
• Perform incoming inspections of information technology equipment as well as inventories information technology equipment
• Manage the stock of spare equipment

In the performance of these tasks, the key person will have to comply with the relevant working practices and procedures.

YOUR PROFILE

The User Support Analyst is required to have, as a minimum, 3 years experience in the following:
• End-user support in general, and support in identifying, repairing and replacing failed hardware components on PC and notebooks, as well as dealing with hardware driver installations in particular
• IT technologies as used at EUMETSAT eg. HP desktops, notebooks, Konika Minolta printers and MS Office applications
• Customer focus and service orientation together with highly effective interpersonal skills in dealing with demanding customers under high workload
• Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of MS Windows 7 and Windows 10 In addition, the following knowledge shall be considered an advantage:
• Certification for the maintenance of HP desktops and notebooks
• Knowledge of, and experience in, installing and troubleshooting structured cabling systems and networking hardware
• Experience in performing inventory and stock management
• Knowledge of managing inventory repositories especially in SAP The following activities will gradually become of importance to the position but, if required, the key person will be trained in-house on these activities
• Structured, ISO 9000 certified and/or ITIL based information technology service organisation
• MS Active Directory and Microsoft Management Consoles
• Software distribution systems (e.g. Novell ZENworks, MS SMS)

The official languages are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the consultant must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. German would be advantageous in contacting local companies
